Three Brothers Coffee (Nashville, TN) - 3/18/22

We needed a little break from the monotony of our daily routine, so we decided to take a long weekend trip out to Nashville to see some good friends and eat good food. The five-and-a-half-hour drive from Missouri wasn’t too bad, as the wife-to-be and myself kept each other company along the way - but mostly because she was the one who drove!

After checking into our cute Airbnb, unpacking, and nosily poking around the place like a couple of lost squirrels, we realized the drive took its toll on us as we were starting to get a little sluggish. Knowing we had dinner plans in a few hours, but being tired and a little hungry at the moment, we found ourselves in that awkward timeframe between meals. We didn’t want to go out for actual dinner since our friend was cooking from scratch, but we also needed to eat before we murdered each other.

This cute bicycle-themed hipster coffee bar was just what we needed. Well lit with natural light and plenty of seating, and a homely vibe, it’s no wonder it was packed full of college students and digital nomads.

I had my usually go-to warm caffeinated beverage, a Chai Latte. I was a little disappointed that they didn’t offer soy milk, but all the other usual suspects were there, so I went with my runner-up almond milk. And oh boy! The Chai Latte I had at Three Brothers Coffee was one of the best - if not the best - Chai Lattes I have ever had. I am hoping we can stop by again on our way out of Nashville so that I can get another one! It was an absolute 5/5 drink!

Elise had a Cafe Au Lait, which she called a solid 4.5/5. It would have been a five itself if the specific brew had a few more chocolaty notes! But that, like everything, is just a personal choice.

Since we were both getting hangry (although she claims I was the hangry one), we decided to get a couple of Galettes. I’ve had similar pastries, but never an actual galette. With warm filling in the middle and thick, crispy edges around it, the galettes at Three Brother’s Coffee were one of the biggest surprises of the trip. Switching back and forth between bites, we sampled the Roasted Tomato and Basel, and Spinach Artichoke. Out of the two, the Roasted Tomato and Basil Gillette reigned supreme, as the crisp saltiness of the crust perfectly complemented the savory and slightly sweet flavor of the roasted tomato. The Spinach Artichoke Gillette wasn’t bad, but the Roasted Tomato stole the show!

If you’re a longtime resident of the beautiful city of Nashville or just stopping by, you owe yourself a visit to Three Brothers Coffee. You won’t be disappointed!
