I’m the the type that can’t pass up a good satisfaction survey for something I love. While filling out the satisfaction survey for Blizzcon 2010 I couldn’t help but notice what’s on the mind of Blizzard.

The ability to purchase a DVD of all Blizzcon coverage? Yeah, I’ll definitely buy that for close friends who couldn’t make it to Blizzcon or purchase the stream. Oh, and yes, a copy for myself as well. But the main two things that caught my attention were the ability to virtually play the games being demoed on the show floor and the possibility of Blizzcon on Xbox Live.
While I watched this years Blizzcon on my TV via laptop with HDMI, I can’t help but wonder what Microsoft would think about Blizzard getting their own spot on Xbox Live during Blizzcon. It’s hard to see Microsoft going along with that unless they are getting their own Blizzard title.
Think about it. While Activision-Blizzard are a mutiplatform developers with games the Xbox 360, the core Blizzard experience (Warcraft, Diablo, StarCraft) has never been on consoles. Could Blizzard be planning to announce an Xbox 360 exclusive at next years Blizzcon?
Now while speculation on a new game is all well and good, I know you all are excited about the possibility of playing show floor demos from the comfort of your own home. I know I am! Since the demos are small contained portions of an unfinished game, they can likely be played in a browser. Personally, unless it was DRM protected, I wouldn’t bother with a downloadable demo. They want to give people who purchase the stream something nice. Allowing someone to torrent the perk takes away from the experience.
Needless to say, I’m looking forward to what the coming year will bring to Blizzcon.

That’s right, boys and girls! The soothing sounds of the old west are now available on CD, iTunes, illegal torrent, and on a double vinyl LP! Being the hipster fuck I am, it should be pretty easy to guess which one I drawn a boner to.

Twisted Pixel, the independent developer behind downloadable hits The Maw and ‘Splosion Man have done it yet again with Comic Jumper: The Adventures of Captain Smiley.

Comic Jumper follows the lives of self aware super heroes Captain Smiley and his wisecracking sidekick, Star. After their comic gets canceled, they are willing to do whatever it takes to earn some money and get their own comic back. For the gamer, this means playing though various cameo appearances in comics spanning several ages, art styles, and genres.
The gameplay is a mix of Contra, Space Harrier, QTE’s, and watered-down beat ‘em up, constantly changing throughout each level. One minute you are punching wave after wave of obese tribal locals and the next you are on-rails shooting fireball-throwing enemies in golf carts.
Above: Ten minutes of gameplay from the demo.
The humor in Comic Jumper is some of the best I have ever experienced in an Xbox Live Arcade title or video games in general. I literally had to look twice at the ESRB rating because at times I couldn’t believe they could get by with some of the dialogue in a Teen-rated downloadable title. It is witty, crude, and offensive. And I love every minute of it! To be completely honest, it’s the sole reason why I stuck with the game to the very end.
Above: The wonderful stats screen song.
Bottom line: If you’re looking for a hilarious and unique Xbox Live Arcade game and are willing to ignore the subpar controls and gameplay to experience the game in its entirety, by all means buy Comic Jumper. Gaming elitists that nitpick every little flaw and rate games a two out of 10 just because they hate everything about everything should turn back now. This game is for those capable of enjoying something despite its shortcomings.
6/10

This depresses me on so many levels. I’m now going to go write a dark and edgy poem about the sadness of getting tea bagged. Normal people just don’t understand!
Since it’s not technically a cheat or hack, gamers that take advantage of this credit gaining loophole need not worry about getting banned or suspended. It’s also impossible for Bungie to fix without removing the weapon or save point.
The steps are below.
Step 1: Choose ONI: Sword Base on ANY difficulty with free for all score.
Step 2: Run through the level till you can pick up the Target Locator.
Step 3: Walk to the door and wait for a “Checkpoint”
Step 4: Fire at the enemies!
Step 5: Press start, choose “Revert to last save”, and repeat the above steps.
And here’s a video of the exploit in action.
Keep in mind you earn more points (and credits) depending on the difficulty. The higher the difficulty the better. Also, activate those skulls!
Next stop, Nathan Fillion’s voice!

Microsoft has officially given Kinect a release date. It’ll be in stores November 4th of this year with 15 titles available at launch. Naturally, those games will be nothing short of shit.
And Microsoft has yet to officially announce a price, and that worries me.

According to GameStop’s (and several other retailers) product page, Kinect for Xbox 350 is priced at $149.99.
There’s also a Kinect Arcade bundle priced at $299.99 and a Kinect Elite Bundle for $399.99.
Keep in mind none of this is official until Microsoft says it is, although the prices to seem likely.
