ragequit

Brian Jarrard, the community director at Bungie, claims Halo: Reach will be rage-quitter free. But at what cost?

“We actually have new tools now to detect that (Ragequitting) and eventually, people who do this habitually will actually be penalized,” Jarrard told Xbox 360 Achievements, “We want to be able to remove them from the population so they can’t make everyone else keep having a bad time.”

While I understand some people are dicks that can’t stand losing a match, but what about those that have to quit the match for other reasons? Are we going to penalize those people too?

I’ve quit playing mid-game for a number of reasons. Laggy connection, phone call, doorbell, girlfriend in need of love. My point is, there are more important things than video games. I can’t see any mentally stable gamer turning down a phonecall from their spouse because they’re afraid of the consequences Bungie have implemented for not continuing a match.

I’m interested in seeing how this will play out.
